Wednesday – I found myself walking along the baywalk of a nearby town/city about 15 minutes away from home. It was 3:30 pm and I backpacked my way over there hoping to find some peace and quiet. And I did.
I figured that if I only stay home, I wouldn’t get to practice using my camera as much as when I do go out and look for interesting things outside my backyard. This is the first time I’ll fiddle with my camera settings and I’m still learning.
I have to say that The Naga Baywalk is a welcome change of scenery to my usual daily encounters. I don’t often go somewhere far on weekdays and I actually surprised myself when I decided in an instant to go alone. I didn’t tell anyone in the house where I was going and I had no data connection to avoid the temptations of going online.
It was my moment. And unexpectedly, it was a beautiful moment alone. It really pays to spend some time with yourself every now and then.
The timing was perfect because there weren’t many people yet when I arrived, so I sat quietly there and enjoyed the scenery.
Aside from it’s totally free to hang out at the baywalk, I also enjoyed people-watching, and of course, the fresh fruit shakes! It was such a glorious day to have a refreshing healthy drink! I had my favorite avocado shake, and it’s so funny that with the many choices I had, the lady offered me avocado first. How’d she known?
In case you’re wondering, yes, I have a ton of photos of my shoes and my tattered jeans because I didn’t want to take selfies that day. Lol.
I walked around for a while to wait for the beautiful sunset. But when it was getting darker, it looked like it was gonna rain so I didn’t wait for the sunset anymore. Almost there though.
Before I went home, a college girl approached me for a quick interview. She said it’s for their school project but never bothered to explain the background or anything about it. Since I remembered my college days doing the same thing, I just said yes.
She seemed polite but I was quite surprised when the first question was — do you believe in God? Followed by some more questions about altruism and self-worth. I didn’t realize her questions could be a bit personal. I mean to me, they’re personal questions. Anyway, I’d leave it at that. It was good to have that kind of unexpected part of my alone time though.
Alert! Notice the plastic cup down there in the next 2 photos? I only noticed that when I was browsing my photos on the computer. I really hope people learn to throw their trash in the right places. It’s pretty much common sense. Sheesh. Besides that, the entire place is generally clean though with proper trash bins around.
While there might be so many technical mistakes in my photos that I don’t know of, it’s such a joy to never have to add a filter or preset to any of them, isn’t it? I had so many aha moments that day, about myself and photography – which is a topic for my next blog post! 😉
That’s it for today! Hope you do get your quiet time alone this week too. ♥
