Solea Mactan: Bring Your Family to this Chic Resort

Rea Ninja
Solea

Solea, also a Spanish word for elevated land, is a mid-range family resort in Cordova, Cebu that has started providing a beautiful getaway for locals and tourists for a year now. When I first arrived at the resort, I immediately thought that it was one of those overly expensive resorts in the region. Don’t fret though, because Solea is worth it.

From its super chic lobby to its world-class amenities, the resort exudes a modern yet simplistic vibe that can surely bring fun to the entire family or even barkada. No doubt about it – Solea is love! I got invited to a media event there and I must say it was one great experience. It’s perfect for summer and perhaps any time of the year.

We were greeted with smiles, welcome drinks, and seashell necklaces upon arrival. We had a quick tour of one of their rooms and right after that, we got the chance to go around the resort to experience it in full glory. Since it is still relatively new, there are still some parts of the resort that have yet to be finished but as we were told, in 2-3 months’ time, everything will be completed.

Although Solea is still 80% complete, it actually feels just about right. Maybe because there were no obvious construction sites or scaffolding. In fact, everything looks clean. What you still need to watch out for are the diving store, conference area, 200 more rooms, water park, sky lounge, and a helipad (with a helicopter, of course).

For now, you’ve got all of these photos to enjoy. It was a little gloomy when we went. It rained for a while but when it stopped, we enjoyed the afternoon because it wasn’t too hot to swim.

They have the best pieces of furniture. I can’t help but have a photo sesh on each beautiful chair, but I’ll only show you one photo. Lol.

My favorite part of the resort is probably the infinity pool and I was so happy because it’s just 4 ft deep. If you don’t know yet, I’m not a swimmer so I was so thrilled that I still got to enjoy the pool! FYI – all the pools at Solea are just at 4 ft because it’s mainly a family resort and as expected, there will be lots of kids or children around. This way, everybody can still enjoy it.

We also got the chance to check out their lagoon, the sandbar, and the beach. The views in this area all look like paintings because believe it or not, when you’re there, everything’s like a painting – the sky, the clouds, the beach! I swear I felt like I was on the set of The Truman Show.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that since the sandbar and the lagoon are man-made, I had the kind of feeling that I was on a highway or maybe an oasis? Nonetheless, it’s pretty, and it was so bright when we were there. The sand was actually very white (photos don’t quite show it).

After taking so many photos, we headed to Earth Restaurant to take our lunch. No photos because we were so hungry. And you know me, I don’t take food photos when I’m very hungry. 😉 We then spent the rest of the afternoon at the infinity pool!!

I really love this concept – you can relax on the couch in the middle of the pool. Talk about stylish!

They also have this big #SOLEA standee at the beach for photo ops. Also, look at the background. Super still waters. Like I’ve been saying, it looks like a painting of some sort.

We stayed at Solea until dinner so we got the chance to taste their dinner buffet. Again, I was hungry so no photos at all, although I did shoot quick video clips. Lol.

It was a fun-filled day! I had a wonderful time – love the infinity pool, love the food, the spacious lobby, and even the comfort room. I love Solea (not just because I got in there for free, but really, it’s beautiful!). I’m planning to be back with Reiko soon and hopefully when the water park’s up for use.
