Summer is just around the corner and there’s no denying that everyone’s itching to go somewhere they can chill, relax, and beat the summer heat. Beach, swimming pools, waterfalls, and basically anywhere with water elements are always a hit.
With so many go-to resorts in Cebu, there’s no shortage of destinations… but JPark Island Resort and Waterpark truly stands out from the rest.
With its huge and spacious location, you will be sure to get the most out of your staycation as well as the value for your money. Even just walking to the lobby feels grand.
As an adventurer and a shutterbug, JPark is a beautiful feast to my eyes. For sure, so much have already been written and said about it; Google it and you will find lots of hits. It isn’t surprising though because this resort is one of the best and has been awarded by Trip Advisor the Certificate of Excellence last year (2016).
At this point, you can take this as the true tale of a girl who went to Jpark and never wanted to leave (well, if only I didn’t have an appointment that day, sheesh!).
Every corner is picture-perfect and definitely Instagrammable — a delight to all social media lovers and millennials out there (a.k.a. me). But whether you are into social media or not, you will find that Jpark is not just a mere show-off as you will truly enjoy your time there with your family and friends, or even your time alone.
For me, a beautiful destination is not enough if it isn’t functional. With Jpark, I can attest that its beauty complements its function. There’s an activity for everyone to engage in and enjoy. From riding the go-karts to swimming in their variety of pools and enjoying their huge adventure water slides, plus spending time at the beach with fun water sports activities – you will never run out of things to do.
One of my favorite places inside the resort is the Aqus Island Pool & Bar. I was just walking around to take photos and capture some moments but I was immediately greeted with beautiful smiling faces from the resort’s staff. #TrueStory. One of the attendants proactively spoke with me and explained what food and drinks they offer at the bar. He offered to get the menu for me too so I could choose my order.
In fact, I noticed that all the attendants I passed by were eager to help and very knowledgeable about the resort. True enough, what’s a beautiful and functional destination without its people, right? The attendants or employees I met and talked with were hands-down helpful.
I worked in the customer service industry for 7 years which is why I always appreciate the human factor of a place I visit. I think you can say the same too. It makes me feel that even though it’s a business, they still put their guests in the front and center of everything.
Anyway, it was too hot that day so I couldn’t help but sit and relax on one of the cozy chairs at the island bar. I just observed the interactions between the resort’s staff and some guests and I must say the staff was really approachable and kind. I savored the soft breeze that gently hit my face and took my exhaustion away. Hmm, did that really happen? A little poetic but yes, it did happen!
Right after lunch, my friends and I also enjoyed the go-kart. It was soooo fun! I don’t think I’ve ever tried go-kart here in Cebu so trying it for the first time was pure bliss! It was like one good exercise for the day.
There’s a mini-golf course too!
We also dropped by another island pool and bar to chill for a while. I like that they have this concept because it’s very convenient for the swimmers in case they want to grab some food and drinks. At least, they don’t need to go far just to order.
Before I get even more poetic right here, lo and behold are my blissful snapshots for you to enjoy! They’ll make you wanna change to your swimwear and jump right in. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. 😉
You’ve just got to love the Amazon River with these colorful mushrooms around it. Do you wanna go with the flow? Then this is something you’ll love. You’ll know when you get there. ♥
Kids and kids at heart (a.k.a. me again) will surely enjoy this pool and slides. It’s very artistically made. The fun hues and colors are meant to awaken your senses!
Perhaps you’re now excited to visit Jpark because I am too! I think Reiko (my 5-year-old son) will love it here. After all, he’s a water baby. Summer or not, this resort is a great pick – aside from it’s beautiful and exciting, it’s also very family and kid-friendly. Plus it’s worth the value for your money.
Come to think of it, JPark could easily be your second home or perhaps, your home away from home. Can’t wait for you to experience this world-class resort! Remember? This is the same resort where Ms. Universe 2016 (held January 2017) had its swimwear competition. 😉

A week after my visit to JPark, I had the chance to stay there overnight with my family for Reiko’s birthday. He had so much fun in the swimming pools and we were able to try their breakfast buffer too. We will definitely be back one day.
A few months after, my blogger friends and I were back for the opening of their new bar and we had a great time, tried their dinner buffet, and partied like there’s no tomorrow, lol. All good!
