I had a hard time deciding. It’s either Marina Bay Sands Skypark or the Singapore Flyer. I’ve mentioned once or twice here on my blog that any place that has a roof deck or anywhere with a top view of the place would likely interest me. After days of research, Marina Bay won my heart.
I didn’t really know what to expect. It’s okay to not know what to expect either, but the price that comes with just staying or visiting the observation deck is quite expensive so I had to at least make sure it’ll somehow be worth it. What to do? I read reviews and watched YouTube videos about MBS Skypark.

So as usual, I booked my ticket via Klook.com (affiliate link) and got a discount. It was actually a big help! I paid around Php 900. Marina Bay Sands is a spectacular and grand architecture in Singapore. I guess everybody will agree with that, but staying in the hotel itself is way out of my travel budget so I figured that since I couldn’t stay at the hotel or swim at their famous rooftop infinity pool, I’d at least try to go up and see how it feels to be there.
THIS WAS MY EXPERIENCE and it might be different for you: When you book via Klook, first you have to redeem your ticket at Elevatione Time Stops by Salvador Dali at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands before heading to the Skypark.
Elevatione was just in the vicinity so you don’t really have to go far. That’s what we did after arriving from Universal Studios. I was still with my two friends at that time and after getting our Skypark tickets, we needed to claim my friend’s sim card at Raffles Place (we had a hard time looking for M1 shop).
I was kind of worried that we wouldn’t catch the sunset, but I remembered that sunset in Singapore isn’t until around 7:00 PM so that’s a relief! I really wanted to see the sunset from above. We arrived at the Skypark at around 5:00 PM and it was indeed a perfect retreat to a long and tiring but fun day.

We made it! We’re on the 56-57th floor of Marina Bay Sands. The Skypark is located on that spaceship-like structure on top of the building. The infinity pool is on the other side which is exclusive for hotel guests only. There are also lush gardens and restaurants.

The observation deck was really just that – for observation. 😉 It’s best to check the weather before going because it’d be really such a waste of time if it’s raining. From what I’ve read, they can refund or reschedule if it rains before you have entered the deck. Thankfully, the weather was great when we arrived.
We just sat on the floor, rested, and admired the beauty of the city from above. I enjoyed the soft breeze, the magnificent views, and the time to just sit and wonder. It was also a great time to take photos.
There wasn’t a full-on sunset but witnessing the changing of day to night was good enough for me.
I think we only stayed for two hours because we still needed to meet a friend and eat dinner after. It was such a short stay for an expensive price but since I already expected beforehand that we wouldn’t stay long, I was okay with it. Two hours seemed like such a long time anyway when you’re just sitting and observing the sights and people around. Not bad for first-timers.
